The Holocaust in Jewish Historiography

The Holocaust confronted Jewish historiography with new framework challenges: i. the geographical and political changes of major Jewish communities in the twentieth century; ii. the changing relationship between the Jewish people and other nations; and iii. the subjective evaluation of the Jewish people and its history in view of the Holocaust. General problems of modern Jewish historiography may be categorized to include: historiography in the Diaspora, historiography in Eretz Israel, changing evaluations and conditions, old conceptions and new facts, between past and present, between Israel and the Nations (antisemitism) and, of utmost importance, the Six Day War and its aftermath.
