Silent Voices: Short Documents from the Holocaustis a series of texts that were written during the Holocaust,some of which had been stowed on the archive shelves,known only to scholars. Seeking to give voice to many of theunheard victims of the Holocaust, we present their texts inan annotated English edition.

I Saw No Chance of Surviving, So I Began to Write presents Zofia Brzezińska’s account of the events of the Holocaust inWarsaw. Fearing for her life and for the lives of her lovedones, she felt obligated to write a testimony—“EverythingI experienced myself…was only part of a greater, generaltragedy. I wanted to recount it as a witness, regardless of what would happen to us.”
