""Designing Memory"" Competition

 The Official Commemorative Poster

The winning poster in the ""Designing Memory"" competition, an ongoing initiative of Yad Vashem together with the Israel Ministry of Public Diplomacy. The winning design, created by graphic artist Vlada Shimanovsky, was selected by a distinguished panel of artists and Holocaust education experts out of almost 200 entries, and is being distributed and displayed across Israel to mark Yom HaShoah 2021.

"אַל תֵּצֵא!" הִתְחַנְּנָה צִפּוֹרָה-לִיבָּא אֶל בְּנָהּ שִׂמְחָהלֶ'ה, כְּשֶׁרָאֲתָה אוֹתוֹ מְסוֹבֵב וּמוֹרִיד אֶת כּוֹבַע הַמִּצְחִיָּה עַל עֵינָיו וּמַכְתִּיף אֶת תַּרְמִילוֹ, "מְסֻכָּן..." אֲבָל שִׂמְחָה הֵישִׁיר אֵלֶיהָ מַבָּט. הַנִּצְנוּץ הַקּוּנְדֵּסִי כְּבָר לֹא הָיָה שָׁם, רַק הַרְבֵּה עָצְמָה וּנְחִישׁוּת: "אֲנִי מֻכְרָח, אִמָּא", אָמַר חֶרֶשׁ וְיָצָא. הָאוֹר וְהַשֶּׁמֶשׁ שֶׁבַּחוּץ קָרְאוּ לוֹ אֲלֵיהֶם. וְחוּץ מִזֶּה, הֲלֹא כָּל כָּךְ הַרְבֵּה עֲבוֹדָה חִכְּתָה לוֹ בַּחוּץ! כָּל הָעֲנִיִּים, שֶׁלֹּא נוֹתַר לָהֶם מַה לֶּאֱכֹל, וְהַנָּכִים שֶׁלֹּא יָכְלוּ לָצֵאת מֵהַבָּתִּים - מִי יִדְאַג לָהֶם? מִי יִקַּח תַּכְשִׁיטִים וּכְלֵי בַּיִת מִתּוֹשָׁבֵי הַגֶּטוֹ הָרְעֵבִים וְיַחֲלִיף אוֹתָם בַּצַּד הַפּוֹלָנִי תְּמוּרַת מוּצְרֵי מָזוֹן? מִי יְתַוֵּךְ, מִי יְאַרְגֵּן, מִי יִתְמַקַּח? שִׂמְחָה!
