The kit deals with how mothers in the ghettos coped with daily difficulties and the unique aspect of Jewish women keeping Jewish heritage and tradition alive. This kit includes two lesson plans regarding the fate of Jewish women during the Holocaust. Holocaust research indicates that there is a unique gender perspective on the female experience during the Holocaust. Some of the changes in women's lives during the Holocaust were different then the changes men faced and they dealt with them differently. Traditional gender roles disintegrated. Women were forced to take on new roles and deal with situations on their own, situations they did not have to confront before.
