The author concludes that we must continue to compile documentary data from the archives of various institutions, from sources as yet uncovered and from eyewitnesses before they die. Cataloguing and bibliographical sorting of documents must be continued in all institutions possessing material and this task must be planned and coordinated. A central periodical on a worldwide scale must be published. Training of young research scholars must be encouraged. Memorial volumes of local communities – Landsmannschaften – should be taken into account.
