David Brainin was Born in Kharkov, Ukraine. In 1924, he arrived in Paris and enrolled in painting, choreography and dance classes. He studied painting at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and specialized in movie-setdesign. He was arrested on April 1942, 29 and interned in Drancy, and later in Compiegne. On September, 18 1942 Brainin was deported on Transport No.34 to Auschwitz where he was murdered.
