Historians and True Believers: Isabel Heinemann, “Rasse, Siedlung, deutsches Blut”. Das Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt der SS und die rassenpolitische Neuordnung Europas
Isabel Heinemann has written an important study on the mostly overlooked Race and Resettlement Main Office in the SS. Equipped with the training and methodological tools of the young generation of German historians of Nazism currently dominating the field, she presents a clear-eyed analysis of the organization that epitomized Nazi racial theory and implemented it. And yet, she does not go beyond the confines of project of her teachers and colleagues, and thereby misses the opportunity to break new conceptual ground.
