Next is examined the problem of the number of victims as a research problem, the sources that can help to make an estimate, and the debates among researchers on this issue. Recent research estimates that the actual number of victims does not surpass one and half million. For statistical data concerning transports of Jews from European countries to Auschwitz according to various sources from the archives of the Auschwitz Museum.
